What labor-only means

You've got the transportation handled — a rental truck, a PODS or U-Box container, a trailer — and you need trained hands to load it right or unload it fast. Our crews show up with dollies, straps, and pads technique, and do the physical work by the hour. It's the cheapest way to get professional muscle into a DIY move.

Loading is the skill that matters most here: a properly loaded truck fits more, shifts less, and arrives without crushed boxes. If you've ever opened a rental truck after 200 miles and watched a bookcase fall out, you know what you're paying to avoid.

What our labor crews handle

  • Loading and unloading rental trucks, portable containers, and storage units
  • Heavy lifting inside your home — moving a safe downstairs, a treadmill to the basement, appliances in or out
  • Furniture assembly: new furniture assembled — beds, dressers, desks, shelving — whether or not we moved it
  • In-home rearrangement: redoing a room layout, rotating furniture between rooms and floors, staging a house for sale
  • Truck-packing rescue: you started packing the truck, it's not going well, we finish it properly

How labor-only is priced

Hourly per crew member, usually with a two-hour minimum, and no truck fee since there's no truck. Tell us what's being loaded or moved and we'll size the crew honestly — most container loads are a two-person job.

When you'd want full-service instead

Straight talk: if you're renting a truck for a local move, price it against our full-service local moving before you book. After the rental, fuel, insurance, and your Saturday, labor-only plus a rental doesn't always win — and if it doesn't, we'll tell you.

Labor-only questions

Do you bring equipment, or just people?

Crews come with dollies, straps, and tools. Furniture pads for inside a rental truck are your responsibility to rent or buy — or grab them from our moving supplies.

Can you just assemble furniture I bought?

Yes — assembly-only visits are normal work for us, priced hourly the same way.

Will you load a truck you didn't pack boxes for?

Of course. We load what's ready. If boxes aren't sealed or safe to stack we'll flag them rather than bury a problem in the middle of the truck.
