Two installations, one hometown crew
Savannah is unusual: Hunter Army Airfield sits inside the city limits, and Fort Stewart is about forty miles down the road in Hinesville. Between them, military families are a steady part of who we move every single month — not a category we added to a services page. Our crews know the gates, the housing timelines, and the neighborhoods people actually land in.
The moves we do most
- On-post to off-post — leaving housing at Hunter or Stewart for a place in Richmond Hill, Pooler, Rincon, or the southside
- Off-post to on-post — the same trip in reverse, usually on a tighter timeline
- Hunter to Stewart and back — a short hop that still needs two gate plans and a real schedule
- PCS out of the area — one crew, door to door, anywhere in the lower 48 (see long-distance from Savannah)
- Deployment storage — the apartment emptied into storage on the way out, and back out when you are home
Short notice is the normal case, not the exception
Orders move. Report dates change. Housing falls through and the lease starts anyway. We plan for that instead of acting surprised by it — so when you call with three weeks or less, you get a straight answer about what is actually available that day, not a maybe and a callback that never comes.
Personally procured moves (PPM/DITY)
If you are doing a PPM, you are being reimbursed against weight, which means the paperwork matters as much as the muscle. We are a direct-hire mover — you hire us yourself, which is exactly how a PPM works. We provide itemized invoices and receipts for your claim, and we support certified weigh-ins on request.
One honest note: your installation transportation office sets the rules, and they do change. Confirm the current requirements with them before move day — better to hear that from us now than to find a missing document at claim time.
Gate access and on-post moves
Moving on post means our crew has to clear the gate, so we sort that out ahead of time rather than at 8am with a loaded truck idling at the visitor center. Tell us the installation and the housing area when you book and we will handle the coordination.
Where Savannah military families land
Richmond Hill is the perennial favorite — good schools and an easy run to Hunter. Pooler pulls families who want new construction, Rincon and Guyton stretch the dollar further, and plenty of folks stay close to the southside for the short commute. Coming in sight-unseen? Ask the crew — a lot of them have made this exact move, and they will tell you what the listings will not.
