Downtown offices were not designed for moving day

Savannah's business district is beautiful and inconvenient in equal measure. Firms sit in buildings that went up long before freight elevators, on streets where a 26-foot truck can't idle in front of the door, with loading windows that have to be arranged rather than assumed. That's not a problem — it's just a plan, and it's the plan we make before your move instead of during it.

So the first thing we do is walk your space. A real site visit means the quote reflects the elevator situation, the loading window, the certificate of insurance your building manager wants, and the actual carry distance from door to truck — not just a desk count and a hopeful number.

The weekend playbook

The expensive part of an office move isn't the furniture, it's the hours your team can't work. So we build the move backwards from the moment you need to be operational: what goes Friday evening, what's staged over the weekend, and what's on every desk before people badge in Monday. We'll have a crew member on hand that first morning to shift whatever needs shifting.

Firms with file rooms

Savannah's professional corridor — law offices, accounting firms, title companies, the businesses clustered near the courthouse — all share the same headache: the records. Boxed and labeled in order, delivered in order, and put back in a way that doesn't cost your staff a month of re-filing. It's tedious work and it's the part we take the most care with, because a file room in the wrong sequence is a bill you pay in payroll for weeks.

Medical and professional practices

Practices moving around the hospital districts and out toward the Pooler medical corridor have their own constraints — patient scheduling that can't simply pause, equipment that needs careful handling, and a waiting room that has to look finished on day one. We plan those around your appointment calendar, not ours.

Pooler, Godley Station, and the airport corridor

A good share of Savannah's office growth has moved out toward Pooler, Godley Station, and the business parks along the airport corridor. Those moves trade historic-building constraints for straightforward dock access and more square footage — usually simpler days, and often the destination when a downtown firm outgrows its floor.

What we move

  • Desks, workstations, conference rooms, break rooms, and reception
  • File rooms and records — boxed, labeled, and delivered in sequence
  • Retail fixtures and inventory along Broughton and the surrounding blocks
  • Medical and specialty office equipment
  • IT — monitors, towers, and peripherals packed and labeled by desk; your IT vendor handles servers and network cutover and we coordinate around them

Certificates of insurance

Most managed buildings downtown want a COI naming the property manager before anyone touches the dock or the elevator. Send us the requirements when you book and we'll have it issued ahead of move day — it's a routine piece of paperwork that stops a surprising number of moves at the door when it's left to the last minute.

What an office move costs

Small offices price like local moves — hourly, by crew size. Larger relocations get a flat project quote after the site visit, with after-hours and weekend labor included in the number. Either way you have it in writing before anything is scheduled.

Office moving questions, answered straight

Can you move us over a weekend?

That's the standard playbook — load Friday evening, place over the weekend, operational Monday. Book three to four weeks out for weekend windows.

Our building has no freight elevator.

Plenty of Historic District offices don't. We plan the stair carries and truck placement in advance and price them in, so it's a detail rather than a surprise.

Do our employees need to pack their own desks?

Either way works. Most companies have staff pack personal items into labeled crates we deliver ahead of time and we handle the rest — but we can pack desks entirely if you'd rather keep everyone working.

Can you provide a certificate of insurance?

Yes. Send us your building's requirements when you book and we'll have it issued before move day.
